Happy Easter!

Everything is finally waking up from a long wintery nap. I say that every holiday is my favorite but the warm winds of spring start to blow and while we reflect on the true meaning of Easter, I truly feel an overwhelming gratitude towards our Savior. I'm so grateful for this holiday so that we can reflect on those sweet feelings.

COUSINS!

Whenever you want Nathan on TURBO speed, just have all 7 of his Hillan cousins come to visit for spring break! It's way too much fun!

Uncle Joel, Aunt Lisa, and Cole!

It was so fun to have these visitors at our house! Especially baby Cole! For anyone who has never played Curses I highly recommend it. It will make you laugh so hard the next day you will wake up with a stiff neck that will eventually turn into the flu! It's so worth it!:)

These are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Cody and I decided to have a "favorite things swap." It felt like Christmas! We each picked out three favorites and this is what I got: she MADE this mosaic vase complete with flowers (this picture doesn't do it justice), beaded earrings- too die for! And some killer hot fudge sauce! It was so much fun that we decided to make it a tradition and do it every year! Thank you Cody!

Could They Just Stay Little Forever?

I'm just one of those people who wants life to freeze. I want these boys bottled up! I know it just gets better but someday these little guys will be grown and gone. When I think about when that day will come, I get an ache in my heart. I have told Justin, "When Nathan goes to kindergarten, your better bring me roses... and chocolate!" Life is made up of several moments and all I know is that we have to make every one count. Cheezy, but we don't get second chances. The time we have NOW is so precious!

King Tut!

We had a major milestone occur at our house this month! Kendall rolled over! It only took 5 1/2 months! I'm almost positive it would have been earlier if we would ever put him down. He is always being held by one of us. He is actually glued with super glue to my hip. Yes, I'm one of the lucky ones to have been blessed with those:) Kendall has been a pure delight. He is always squealing with excitement or doing a "full body laugh." This is how he exercises. His happiness is contagious!

Nathan-isms!

I love this age! It's been so fun to actually have full-blown conversations with Nathan. I have written down a few funny things that he has said and wanted to post them so I wouldn't forget:

While Nathan was helping me clean he picked up a paper towel and said,"Mom, I need some dangerous!" (He wanted Windex)

My mom was laying down with Nathan before bed and he kept putting his hands all over her face in the dark. She asked what he was doing and he said, " I'm just checking to see if you're still pretty!"

As we were getting ready to watch Chronicles of Narnia, Nathan asked, "Is this a GIRL movie?"

"Did Heavenly Father made me with play dough?"

"I just want to get married and have a black cake!"

"Sorry! Don't worry! I'll clean it up!" -We hear this one a lot!

"Don't say Nathan JAMES Hillan. You will give me spankin!"

"Hey mom, Nathan was cryin..... What does cryin mean?"

While fastening a shoe strap, Nathan said, "Don't forget the seat belt!"

I asked him when he was going to go potty in the toilet. He said, "When I get a new back pack and go to school!" - Oh really?

As he was doing push ups, "Feel the BURN!"

His prayers have been going something like this,"Bless that we can go an get some Ice Cream and have a good day!"

When Life Gives You SNOW....

...make Snow Cream! I've really had to change my attitude about freezing cold winter days! They're not THAT bad and they will be gone before we know it. This is just what we woke up to, and by the way... it's still snowing:) This is a fun treat to make if you want to make the most of your "snow situations." And no, it's probably not the cleanest thing in the world, but it sure does taste good!
1-3 C snow (make sure it's clean)
1/2 C whipping cream
1 Tablespoon sugar
2-3 drops vanilla flavoring

Spring Tease!

It was such a beautiful day, we felt like we needed to go and take advantage of the Denver weather! This morning Nathan and I had a date. I asked him if he wanted to go and get some pancakes and he said, "No, lets just go to the library." So, off we went. They were celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday so there was tons of fun things to make and lots of good stories! Then we went and feed the ducks. Nathan counted them in Spanish. I don't know Spanish so it sounded pretty good to me :) Thank you Dora!

Later that afternoon we decided to go up to Red Rocks and do a little hiking. There were about 20 hippies playing their Bongo drums at the amphitheatre. It actually sounded really neat. All the drums were echoing off the rocks. Nathan and Justin went down and played their "air drums" with them. All the way home Nathan was saying, "Hey guys, I'm just drumming," as he pounded on his chest.

Tagged!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names and then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and that they should read your blog.

I was 19! I was attending San Juan College and loving life!

5 things on my list to do today....
1. Write in Kendall’s baby book
2. Pick out a cake or cupcakes to do for Nathan’s Birthday
3. Go to church
4. Fix dinner and have the Ropers over
5. Pop popcorn and watch a movie with the family tonight

Snacks I enjoy.....
A good quality bran muffin and I seriously believe that hot chocolate, truffles, Swiss chocolate, and hot fudge sauce make up the four food groups!

What I would do if I were suddenly a millionaire.....
Justin and I have always said we would buy an awesome bus and go visit people when the kids have school breaks. I would invest most of it and not have to have a limit when buying gifts.

3 bad habits......
1. I cut my toenails way too short. I just like them that way but every time I get a pedicure- I get in trouble.
2. I always cut the last 5-3 minutes off of my workout.
3. I have little or NO self control when it comes to… CHOCOLATE!

5 places I have lived.....
1. Ridgefield, CT
2. Nashville, TN
3. Orem, UT
4. Farmington, NM
5. Littleton, CO

5 jobs I have had......
1. Movie Theater
2. Outrigger Hotels and Resorts
3. Nanny
4. Spa & Gym
5. My all time fav…MOM!

5 things people don't know about me.......
1. I have this weird thing when it comes to leaving my kids. I can’t do it! I have had 1 babysitter other than family and have never left them overnight (except when Kendall was born). Justin and my parents are always trying to talk me into weekend getaways, but I just can’t. I don’t see it changing anytime in the near future.
2. One of my most favorite things in the whole wide world is a positive pregnancy test!!
3. I CRAVE laughter. I love to laugh, HARD. I think it feels so good. I love to listen to other people laugh because it makes me laugh!
4. My favorite books to READ are cookbooks. I love them and dream about having my own published someday.
5.It is my fault my babies don’t sleep through the night. I can’t let them cry it out. I love to pick them up, nurse, and snuggle them back to sleep. When they start to fuss in the middle of the night, I kind of get this excited feeling to see them. I should never complain about being tired because I do it to myself.

I am tagging: YOU! Seriously!
